Well this may be alot to take in but all your really need to do at first in concentrate on production, improvements and getting your trade routes up asap. Try and snatch up any protian ruins, Their artifacts are generally the strongest and have the best arfact wounders (combining 3 artifacts can generate unique abilities or wounder buildings) In rising tide the ai likes to spam boats so land cities are alot more defencible then water cities but water cities get strong energy and production bonuses. Almost every affinity level upgrade has a strong boost to a military unit in the game. If yours rushing for military dominence try and research a core affinity to 16 or go for a hybrid affinity of 12/8. Military strength mostly comes from affinities. Titanium is the single strongest source of production from any tile in the game. Infact in rising tide you should aviod aliens with explorers as much as possible. If your explorers end up within 2 of a nest you will likely lose the explorer to alien attacks. Contact for the early science victory or go for one of the virtue victories or world domination. From this point you can chose how ever you like to play the game. Especially with rising tide health will quickly catch up. You will probbaly have some health problems early on but this is more then made up by your trade routes. Often near the start of a new cities life trading with the capital can yield 6-10 food and production and give the captial city 2-5 production.Ĭoncentrating on production and growth will get you a very strong network of cities in the mid to late game. Trade routes between your own cities yield production and food and as such having all your cities with a trade route to your capital, which should have high food and production, gives your new cities a very strong boost to its growth. Trade routes are very strong in Civ:BE and rising tide made them even stronger with better yields. The trade depot, recycler and autoplant are all buildings that should be prioritised early so you can build other buildings quickly. Production and trade routes are super important in Civ:BE and BE:RT. Any virtue tree is viable for the normal difficulties but the military one has the least useful abilities. Advanced users go 4 prosperity and then industry but feel free to muck around. It helps the most early game and if you go deeper makes balancing health and cities quite easy. To start out with I suggest getting vitues from the prosperity tree.
